The town’s Amnesty International Group raised £365 at the brain buster earlier this month – nearly double the amount collected at last year’s event.

Group chairman Andrew Hindle said:

“We had a great turn-out and the people who attended donated generously to the entry cost and our raffle. We are delighted at the total which we will send to the national Amnesty International group to be spent on fighting human rights abuses across the globe.

“We would also like to say a huge thank you to Sutton Town Football Club for hosting us – their support is greatly appreciated.”

The group meets on the second Tuesday of every month (except August) at 8pm in the Conference Centre, Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 69 Lichfield Road, Sutton Coldfield, B74 2NU. New members are always given a warm welcome. For more information see www.amnesty.org.uk/groups/sutton-coldfield
