Images released of suspects following knifepoint robberies in Sutton Coldfield
CCTV images have been released of three teenagers who police suspect threatened three boys during two knifepoint robberies in Sutton Coldfield.
The first incident happened on Friday 31 March just after 3pm. A 15-year-old boy was walking down Lichfield Road towards the town centre when he was approached by two teenage boys.
The teenagers threatened the 15-year-old with a knife and demanded he hand over his mobile phone and jacket before making off.
The second incident happened on Monday 3 April at around 8.30pm as two friends were walking through Sutton Coldfield town centre. Two 16-year-olds were approached by three teenage boys outside McDonald’s and threatened with a knife before the trio made off with a mobile phone, loose change and headphones.
Detective Inspector Mohammed Yousaf, from force CID, said:
“We believe that these three teenagers were involved in both robberies and we want to speak to the suspects in the images.
“These kinds of incidents are rare and they took place at a time when other people would have been around.
“We want to hear from anyone with any information that could help our investigation.”
