Appeal for Witnesses: Police Arrest Man Following Birmingham Road Hit and Run

Police investigating a serious non-stop traffic collision in Sutton Coldfield have arrested a man.

The crash took please at 12 noon today (Wednesday 12 July) when a 70-year-old woman was hit by a motorcycle.

She was taken to hospital with serious injuries where she remains in a critical condition.

Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes from the Collision Investigation Unit said:

“This is a busy area and the crash happened at peak travel time, I would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the collision who has not yet been in touch with police to contact either myself or my team to help us piece together the circumstances of what happened.

“We were able to trace the suspect following information given to us from witnesses at the time and have arrested a 37-year-old man in connection with the collision. He is currently helping police with their enquiries.

“I’m also appealing for anyone who has seen the bike, a Honda CBR 600 RR registration LC53 WBM since the collision to get in touch with me or a member of my team as soon as possible.”
