Parkinson’s UK Sutton Coldfield Receives £8,365 From Sainsbury’s Mere Green
Parkinson’s UK Royal Sutton Coldfield and North Birmingham Branch has received a cheque from Sainsbury’s Mere Green to the value of £8,365.87.
Voted for by customers the branch has been Charity Partner of the Year at the Mere Green store since July 2016.
Several fundraising activities have been held including tombolas and raffles. Colleagues took part in a bake off and baked some amazing cakes. Sutton Coldfield Army Cadets helped with bag packing and three colleagues from the store took part in the Great Midlands Fun Run adding a further £260 to the total raised.
John Carrington, Secretary of the branch said:
“We’re very touched by the generosity and would like to thank the customers and colleagues at Sainsbury’s Mere Green. We would also like to thank all the volunteers from the branch and Sutton Coldfield Army Cadets who have supported us in fundraising activities. The money raised will really make a difference to us.”

The branch along with Mere Green 0-5 and Footsteps Counselling and Support were shortlisted by the store to be 2017/18 Charity Partner of the Year. Voting closed on Sunday 25th June and the winning charity chosen by customers will be announced on 10th July visit www.sainsburyslocalcharity.co.uk
