Sutton Coldfield Town Centre BID launches Month of Music talent search

This spring, Sutton Coldfield Town Centre BID is looking for local stars, soloists and bands from across the region to take centre stage as part of the Royal town’s first ever Month of Music Festival.

MOM1

The month-long celebration of music will take place throughout July with a series of musical festivities, pop up performances and shows taking place in different locations across the town centre.

The search for musicians to perform at the festival launches this Friday 7th April with artists encouraged to send in a web link or video clip of them performing to get involved.

Musicians that submit a clip will automatically be entered into the Sutton Has Musical Talent competition. Those who wish to take part in the July Month of Music Festival but not the competition should mark their entry MoM only.

The Sutton Has Musical Talent competition hosted by the Town Centre BID will take place at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall on Saturday 15th July.

Artists will perform in front of a panel of local judges made up of representatives from the Sutton Coldfield Observer newspaper, local favourite The Three Tuns, talent agency Stagecoach, Sutton Town Hall, the Sutton Coldfield Rewards Scheme, The Gracechurch Centre and Sutton Coldfield Town Centre BID.

Three finalists will receive a Promotional Starter Kit, including one hour of promotional advice from marketing agency WAA Chosen and website set up from graphic and web design consultancy Adventure Graphics as well as £100 worth of Restaurant Quarter vouchers.

In addition, the overall winner will also be given the opportunity to create their very own music video at the Sutton Town Hall using green-screen capture software and post production editing.

Mike Bushell, Sutton Coldfield Town Centre BID Manager:

“The BID has long had plans to create Sutton Coldfield’s very own music event and this year will see this dream finally realised!

“We’re very excited to be announcing the details of our Sutton Has Musical Talent competition to help give local talent their first step on the ladder and we can’t wait to see the entries that come in from our town centre’s future stars!”

Musicians should submit their web link or video clip to justine.longmore@suttoncoldfieldtowncentre.co.uk along with their address, including postcode, date of birth, what age category they are entering and full contact details. The deadline for all entries is midnight on 30th April 2017.
