Pop sensation Brad Simpson of The Vamps to switch on Christmas Lights

Sutton Coldfield pop sensation Bradley Will Simpson of The Vamps will be returning to the Royal Town on Sunday 15th November to switch on the Christmas Lights.

Brad Simpson, who attended Fairfax School, is lead singer and guitarist with The Vamps, the band he formed when teaming up with Bournemouth’s James McVey in 2012 and who were joined by Connor Ball and Tristan Evans.

Their first album, Meet the Vamps, was released in April 2014 and reached number two in the UK. Their second album called Wake Up is due for release on 27th November meanwhile their UK and Ireland Arena Tour Tickets go on sale from 10am on Saturday, November 7th.

Speaking of switching on the town’s Christmas lights Brad explained that he wanted to say thank you to the fans here in his home town of Sutton Coldfield.

“We’re all thrilled Brad has agreed to turn on the town centre Christmas lights this year. He’s a Sutton lad enjoying fantastic success in the music industry and we know this news will delight his home town fans! He’s a really nice, down to earth lad and we’re all very grateful he’s giving up his time for us next Sunday.”

Free Radio favourites and breakfast presenters Foxy and Giuliano will be hosting the Light Switch-On event and The Gracechurch Centre will provide free entertainment throughout the day to get families in the mood.

Children’s entertainers Roy the Magician and Bell the Brush will be keeping the kids happy with balloon tricks, magic and free face painting from 11am until 2pm.

Free Radio activity will begin from 3pm and there will be live performances from local bands, choirs and theatre groups.

The lights will be switched on at 5pm with thousands of spectators expected to turn out for the annual festive spectacle.
