Dates confirmed for this year’s Sutton Coldfield Community Games
The organisers of the Sutton Coldfield Community Games have confirmed that the free event will return to the Royal town for the fourth time this summer.
This year’s event will take place on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th July between 12:00 and 17:00 at Wyndley Leisure Centre. It is anticipated that there will once again be over 60 different sports and activities for visitors to try, in addition to music and dance acts, and children’s entertainment.
Sutton Games founder, Dennis Kennedy, says:
“We’re delighted to be able to confirm the dates for this year’s Sutton Games. It’s hard to believe this will be our fourth event and we’re thoroughly looking forward to it already. There will be a Brazilian flavour this year to mark the Rio Olympics, and we hope to bring one or two new activities to add to the already packed itinerary too.
“Run by volunteers and with all the activities provided by local sports clubs, groups and associations, the Sutton Games is a true community event and thanks to the Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust and the generosity of a number of local sponsors, the whole event is completely free of charge to all. We estimate around 10,000 people joined in the fun last year and hope to attract similar numbers once again.
“With over 60 sports and activities on offer, the Games simply aims give everyone, whether young or old, an opportunity to try their hand at the enormous variety of sports played in and around Sutton Coldfield. It’s fun, interactive and free – so put the date in your diary and prepare to be inspired!”
