Local Career Coach Clara Wilcox Joins Forces with Global Platform Careercake
Local Career Coach has joined the global online training platform, Careercake to bring her special recipe of work-life balance training to the world.
After taking redundancy from her corporate Job in 2015, Sutton Coldfield born Clara Wilcox decided to start The Balance Collective, a coaching business to support working parents create the work-life balance they crave. With a background in recruitment, project management and leadership, Clara balanced her career whilst raising her two daughters:
“After both maternity leave periods, I returned to work on a part-time basis; working flexibly hadn’t impacted or damaged my career progression. However, many of my friends and family found that they couldn’t and ended up leaving the careers they loved and worked so hard for. I started The Balance Collective to empower parents, to give them the career confidence to have both work and a healthy family life.”
The business has been growing since 2015; Clara is an active blogger and trainer on the subjects of careers, business and work-life balance, and makes sure these are shared far and wide. It is through online platforms that Careercake were aware of the work of The Balance Collective. When Careercake received new investment, Clara was one of the first experts, Founder and CEO, Aimee Bateman approached to expand the panel of experts:
“Clara is a fantastic example of a coach whose knowledge is relevant and real… she just ‘gets it’. She’s active in the market, talking to people every day, coaching them through real life scenarios; which makes her the ideal person to join us because of what she can offer our community.
Careercake experts go through considerable vetting to ensure they reflect our values. Our community needs presenters who are passionate about their subject, incredibly knowledgeable, and have real-life experience of the area they are delivering on. Most of all, however, they need to genuinely care about the person watching at home. Clara ticks all of this criteria and so much more.”
Both businesses have global ambitions, using the growing sector of on-demand, online learning, to train and support as many people as possible.
“Careercake has big, big plans for the next few years, with a mission to educate and empower 2 million people by 2020 to make positive changes in their career; ensuring they are seen, heard and valued. We presently operate in over 30 countries, and with the addition of Clara to the team, we know this aim will be soon be a reality because her content is just so good!”
